Simple Machines Forum: How to update the CleanTalk Anti-Spam Modification

 

Manual Update

  1. Make backup copies of your forum files and database.
  2. Go to SMF Administrator Panel —> Admin —> Package Manager.
  3. Then go to Main —> Package Manager —> Browse Packages —> find "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" mod in the "Modification Packages" list —> click the link [ Uninstall ].
  4. Press the button "Uninstall Now" on the next page to confirm uninstall process.
  5. After a successful uninstall, go back to the "Browse Packages" page.
  6. Find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" mod in the "Modification Packages" list again and click the link [ Delete ].
  7. Download the modification archive from CleanTalk (the link is at the beginning of this page or use the link given to you personally), place it in "/Packages".
  8. Go back to the "Browse Packages" page and refresh it. The mod "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" should appear in the "Modification Packages" list. Click the link [ Install Mod ].
  9. Confirm installation of the mod on the next page by clicking the button "Install Now".
  10. After successful installation you should be automatically redirected to the CleanTalk Mod's settings page. It if didn't happen, then go to SMF Administrator Panel —> Admin —> Package Manager —> Configuration —> Modification Settings.
  11. Find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk Mod settings" table, set the mod up, make sure that the access key matches the key from your CleanTalk Dashboard. Then press the button "Save".
  12. (Optional) Test the protection by making a registration using the blacklisted e-mail stop_email@example.com.

8. Go back to the "Browse Packages" page and refresh it. The mod "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk" should appear in the "Modification Packages" list. Click the link [ Install Mod ].

9. Confirm installation of the mod on the next page by clicking the button "Install Now".

10. After successful installation you should be automatically redirected to the CleanTalk Mod's settings page. It if didn't happen, then go to SMF Administrator Panel —> Admin —> Package Manager —> Configuration —> Modification Settings.

11. Find the "Anti-Spam by CleanTalk Mod settings" table, set the mod up, make sure that the access key matches the key from your CleanTalk Dashboard.
